Some of the reasons people find me
You don’t need to know exactly what diagnosis, therapy approach, or kind of help you need. Start with what feels familiar.
ADHD & Executive Functioning
Capable, overwhelmed, and somehow still behind.
Procrastination, time blindness, organization, motivation, emotional regulation, shame, or simply knowing what to do and not being able to make yourself do it.
Explore ADHD Therapy →Anxiety
Your brain keeps looking for the next thing that could go wrong.
Overthinking, worry, perfectionism, panic, avoidance, tension, or difficulty ever really switching off.
Explore Anxiety Therapy →Burnout
You’re still functioning. You’re just running out of whatever was making that possible.
Exhaustion, work stress, emotional depletion, loss of motivation, resentment, overload, or wondering how long you can keep doing this.
Explore Burnout Therapy →Faith Transition & Religious Trauma
The faith that formed you doesn’t fit anymore.
Deconstruction, identity, family conflict, grief, shame, sexuality, loss of community, religious trauma, or rebuilding meaning after leaving a high-demand belief system.

Hi, I’m Zac.
I’m Zac Erickson, a Registered Psychologist in Edmonton.
My style as a therapist is collaborative, curious, practical, and pretty conversational. I’m interested in understanding why something keeps happening — but also in figuring out what might actually help.
I have graduate training in counselling psychology and neuroscience, with particular interests in ADHD and executive functioning, anxiety and burnout, mindfulness and acceptance-based therapy, relationships, identity, and faith transitions.
I’ll take what you’re dealing with seriously without treating every therapy session like a funeral.
More About Zac →Understanding matters. So does actually changing things.
Insight is useful.
But there is a special kind of frustration in understanding yourself beautifully and continuing to do the exact same thing.
I tend to work on both.
We might explore where a pattern came from, what keeps reinforcing it, what your emotions or nervous system are doing, how ADHD or executive functioning might be involved, what you’re avoiding, what you genuinely care about — and then figure out what you can actually do differently.
My work draws from cognitive behavioural therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, executive-function and behavioural interventions, existential therapy, and trauma-informed approaches.
But I don’t believe everyone needs the same therapy.
The model should fit the person — not the other way around.

Choosing a therapist from a headshot and a paragraph is a strange way to make a fairly important decision.
On ADHD Real Talk, I talk about ADHD, psychology, mental health, relationships, behaviour, meaning, and the generally complicated business of being a person.
Listening for a while might give you a better sense of whether my way of thinking works for you.
Think we might work well together?
You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong, have the perfect therapy goal, or figure out which treatment approach you need before you show up.
